JUDAS PRIEST: New Acoustic Live Performances Posted Online
July 8, 2005JUDAS PRIEST fan site The French Metallian has uploaded audio files of PRIEST members Rob Halford, K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton performing acoustic versions of the tracks "Worth Fighting For" and "Diamonds and Rust" (JOAN BAEZ cover) at the studios of KZRR 94 Rock Radio in Albuquerque, New Mexico and WRIF in Detroit, Michigan. Download the songs at this location.
As previously reported, Halford, Downing and Tipton recently performed "Worth Fighting For" and "Diamonds and Rust" acoustically for an appearance on VH1 Classic, which will air on Saturday, July 16 at noon and midnight ET. While acoustic performances are relatively new territory for PRIEST, Tipton told Launch that the band may explore the idea further. "We're actually enjoying ourselves talking about some possibilities of what we could do acoustically, like an acoustic version of a metal song, not just an acoustic version of an acoustic song," he said. "So we're putting our heads together at the moment and trying to think how we can rearrange some of this stuff that would be interesting and valid."
PRIEST have been performing their cover of JOAN BAEZ's "Diamonds and Rust" acoustically on their current world tour.
The group continue a North American trek in support of their latest album, "Angel of Retribution", which has sold a little under 150,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
